Pinterst Friday - Handprint Tree!

Happy Friday!  I saw this awesome piece of artwork a while back on Pinterest.  I just loved how cute it was and new I may want to recreate it someday.

I decided that this would be a perfect gift for my my Mom for Mother's Day (for my dad too - but not for Mother's Day).  I wanted to include the hand prints of their four grandchildren.

I created a stencil using my Cricut (the Cricut Design Studio made making this stencil so much easier).  I colored in the letters with a Sharpie Marker ( I was afraid that paint would run under the stencil and cause the letters smudge together

I created a stencil for the tree that same way that I did the saying.  The cool thing about the Cricut Craft room was I could stretch or shorten the tree anyway I wanted to get the right size and shape.  I traced and shaded the tree with a brown Sharpie marker.

Last but not least, we added the four grandchildren's hand prints.  "Handmade" with love for Grammie and Pop!  I cannot wait to give this to my mom.  I really hope that she does not see this post.  By the way, I love how this came out so much that I am going to create a second one for myself using my husband's, kids' and my hand prints!

The original idea for the project came from this Pin which links to Liz's Naptime Decorator blog.
Thank you, Liz for sharing this adorable project.  I look forward to giving it to my mom!

Happy Mother's Day!
